THYROID SURGERY UNDER LOCAL ANESTHESIA BY DR KAMRAN CH (FIRST TIME IN PAKISTAN)

Recently a news was published in most of papaers of pakistan about this opeation which was done while patient was awake.

Other operation which i did in local anesthesia was MESTECTOMY (removal of breast due to cancer)

Thyroid Surgery under local anesthesia. I did this surgery few months back at my welfare hospital,

(medicalcare.8m.com) The patient was resident of a remote area of Pakistan, was unable to get his

surgery done because of multiple risk factors, he had big thyroid causing respiratory difficulty. The

Thyroid was in such a bad shape that it was not possible to pass an endotreacheal tube to him. So I

decided to operate him under local anesthesia. It took me 3 hours to complete the operation, a teamof doctors was monitoring the patient .The surgery went fine; patient was pain free during the

operation. Patient walked out of the operation theater after the surgery.
